Well, it's been interesting to say the last. My training nurse is leaving tomorrow morning for Halifax, computers are down indefinitely, and I have no XL gloves with which to give a minimum of three injections per day. My patients are at least fairly sociable, I get fed twice per shift, and instead of a lockdown psych unit I am on a voluntary one.
Iqaluit is a lot more bustling than The Hamlet. I am excited to try some of the local restaurants, buy some country food to bring home, even, dare I say it, socialize. There are a ton of other nurses, and apparently even a wing night for medical workers at the local Legion.
Oh, and beer. Can't forget that.
Sounds nice so far Chris. Did you get someone else to train you?
